Villa Candi Kecil Empat sits on no less than 1400 m2 of tropical land, in a traditional Balinese village called Pejeng, just a short drive from Ubud, the cultural and spiritual heart of Bali island. The villa features a large private tropical garden with a private pool, manicured lawns and an alfresco dining area. The double-storey pavilion comes with all the modern comforts needed, touched up with tropical charm and artifacts and on the first floor, there is a glorious open-plan yoga practice space. An intricately-carved wooden door leads into the lush tropical garden of villa Candi Kecil Empat. An oasis of space and peacefulness where koi fish ponds, fountains and an inviting glistening swimming pool with a shallow wading area for the kids await. On the stone sun deck, comfy reclining chairs have been placed for relaxing in the shade of a large white umbrella or sunbathing, working on that gorgeous tropical island tan to take home with you. Kids can safely play in on the manicured lawn of the garden while parents enjoy a traditional Balinese massage in the thatched gazebo. At one end of the pool, near to the statue fountain, which sounds set a wonderfully peaceful ambiance, stands an alfresco dining table where guests can enjoy their breakfast, afternoon cocktails or candlelight dinners beneath the stars. The living pavilion features a traditional high soaring roof, giving a great sense of openness and space while allowing natural light to shine in through the floor to ceiling glass doors that can slide open to the garden to create a tropical open-plan living room. The living room features an elegant natural interior design, ruled by teak wood, rattan, bamboo and a tasteful collection of primitive artwork and sculptures. The long teak dining table, crafted from recycled wood that was taken from the traditional Balinese fishermen boats, makes a great spot for families to enjoy quality time together, dining and perhaps playing some cards in the evening. The TV lounge features comfy rattan sofas, bamboo carpets and colorful floor pillows, great for a cozy in-villa evening watching movies. Following the open staircase from the living room, leads up to the second floor, where guests will be delighted to find a large, open-plan living space which is perfect for yoga, meditation and family gatherings. The view over the tropical scenery surrounding the property is amazing and the space is furnished with a beautiful hand-woven carpet and lots of bean bags which are easily put aside for a yoga practice.
All three bedrooms feature full-length glass doors that slide open to the garden. Inside the rooms are furnished with air-conditioning and comfy double or twin beds draped by white mosquito nets. Whitewashed timber wardrobe closets are equipped with safety deposit boxes to store valuable items and the en-suite bathrooms feature tropical open-air designs for showering beneath Bali’s blue or starlit sky. Two of the bedroom are interconnected, ideal for families and the master room boasts a bathtub with garden view in the en-suite. Soap and shampoo are provided as a complimentary to your stay.
The living area
Sitting on 1400 square meters of tropical land, this villa is in no shortage of indoor or outdoor hang-out spaces! A thatched-roof gate opens up to natural stone pathway fringed by tropical greenery, leading straight towards the spacious combined living and dining pavilion of this 4-bedroom villa. You are welcomed in a light-filled living space that beckons groups to join together for communal meals and lounge time. Situated under the high vaulted ceiling are three comfy rattan sofas which form an L-shape around the floor seating space, styled tastefully with sitting pillows and a natural bamboo mat. Chill out here, read a book, watch a movie on the TV, whatever! Behind the sofa lounge stands a colourful, 12-seater dining table, constructed with the reclaimed wood from Balinese fishing boats. Upstairs, guests will find a dedicated meditation, yoga and massage pavilion, open sided with views of the rice paddies, this area was designed for mind and body rejuvenation. Two massage beds are available.
Outdoor and pool area
The outdoor area of Villa Candi Kecil Empat is very spacious, sunny and tropical. Encompassed by a stone patio sparkles a 12-meter private swimming pool with a shallow inlet for getting in and out of the water (also makes a great spot for kids to safely splash around under supervision of parents). Next to the pool, there are comfy reclining sun chairs with umbrellas, along with a circular outdoor dining table so you can enjoy all of your meals alfresco style if you wish. In the corner of the lush garden is a thatched-roof balé, another good spot to retreat to when in need of some privacy or peace and quiet.

One of the best things about this villa is its location, nestled in nature, away from all the hustle and bustle of central Ubud, yet close enough to drive down there in around 15 minutes. Watch the rolling rice terraces, visit the Monkey Forest, practice yoga at the Yoga Barn, enjoy a healthy meal at one of the raw food restaurants and go rafting on the Ayung River. your holiday can’t go wrong!
