HOW TO SPEND LESS MONEY WHEN GOING TO BALI

HOW TO SPEND LESS MONEY WHEN GOING TO BALI

Bali has been one of the most popular travel destinations especially in the last years, and one of the reasons that make it the dream destination, is that between the plane ticket, food, reservations, and visits, it doesn’t really cost that much.

However, lately, the prices started going up and it can be very easy for expenses to accumulate when a budget hasn’t been determined.

Here are some tips that will help you spend less money when traveling to Bali, so the beauty of Bali is all for you.

So how do you exactly do that?

Getting around Bali:

Local transportation is a very good option when traveling but sadly in Bali, there isn’t that option, locals use scooters, everyone in Bali uses them, and it is very easy and cheap to rent a scooter for a day, now it costs 50000 rupiah.

If you can’t ride a motorcycle and is too scared to even get on one since Bali has very narrow roads, then walking is another alternative especially when you will get to really experience the beauty of everything.

If for some reason you can’t walk, then maybe you can consider taxis. There are two types of taxis: Local taxis and blue bird taxis that are booked.

With local taxis you need to negotiate a price and be careful from being ripped off because they can easily manipulate the meter.

But you need to keep in mind that, if you catch a Bali cab you can’t sightsee, if you try to use the taxi to go places and explore Bali it might cost you too much.

Blue bird taxi is the official cab company in Bali and is known for being the most reliable taxi service in Bali.

It is recommended when traveling locally to change taxis if the taxi driver uses a rate over 50 000 rupiah. For Blue bird taxis, rates are between 6,500 to 10 000 per Km.

There are also fake blue bird taxis that look just like the original ones with the same blue color but quite darker and the blue bird sign isn’t really shown. If you get on one of them, you could pay double the price so beware of that.

Other tips:

Buying a SIM card is a small investment that allows you to have Data so whenever you are confused and is looking for information about prices and stuff you could immediately look it up instead of going into cafes and paying drinks to use the Wifi.

Where to eat in Bali?

Warungs are small businesses mostly family owned that sell local Balinese food and that offer extremely cheap prices, for example Nasi which is a very popular food in Bali costs only 10000 rupiah but there are warungs for tourists that charge you more than the initial price.

There is also Gili night market where for around 20 000 rupiah you can taste the Balinese cuisine and it is said to be the best place to eat in Bali.

Where to stay in Bali?

Staying in Bali isn’t that big of a hassle, there are many establishments that will not empty your pockets. There is a lot of couchsurfing which is a free option and airbnbs in Bali for people that want to get immersed in the Balinese culture. But for people who are considering Villas and want to have their own space and freedom with their own bathroom, bedroom, living room etc..  and enjoy the privacy while also not spending too much, Bali villas r us offers many options from cheap to expensive so you will definitely find the one that is compatible with your budget.
