Banyumala twin Waterfalls

The best waterfalls in Bali are hidden treasures found in the island’s central highlands’ lush rainforests and deep mountain valleys. They’re among the best places to visit if you’re looking for exciting things to do in Bali. Most are at the end of scenic routes, requiring treks past babbling creeks and occasionally crossing wooden bridges and descending a series of rocky steps.

When you discover these popular Bali waterfalls, you will be rewarded with immersive experiences. For a relaxing break, take a dip in the pebbly pools beneath the cascading falls. Some of Bali’s best waterfalls offer breathtaking views from their surrounding base or from atop adjacent hilltops.

Kanto Lampo

Kanto Lampo Waterfall is a small but beautiful waterfall with multi-tiered cascades that flow down a series of stepping boulders. The waterfall is only open during the rainy season when the water volume is high and a shallow wading pool forms at its base.

The falls are located in the Gianyar regency, in the village of Beng. On-site, there is an information office where you can get local tips on the best photo angles. Kanto Lampo Falls is easily accessible – it’s only 100 meters from the roadside entrance base or from above adjacent hilltops.

Melasti Waterfall

The Melasti Waterfall is a one-of-a-kind coastal feature that can be found on Bali’s far west coast near Tanah Lot Temple on the namesake Melasti Beach. The mini falls cascade down a grassy seaside cliff near the Batu Bolong temple.

The hidden black sand beach and its waterfall are less accessible during high tide, and extra caution is advised. The waterfall can be spectacular at low tide, especially at sunset. The waterfall is only open during the rainy season, so it’s best to go when it’s raining.

Tegenungan Waterfall

Tegenungan is one of the closest large waterfalls to Bali’s popular southern resort areas like Kuta and Sanur. If you’re coming from Ubud, it’s even closer. The trip to the falls is a pleasant drive down paved village roads flanked on both sides by stretches of green rice fields. The site is also well-equipped. There is plenty of parking, as well as rows of small local shops selling snacks and souvenirs. The breathtakingly green valley panorama with cascading water serves as the focal point. From the vast pebbly base, you can enjoy the views up close. Most of the time, you can swim in the plunge pool, except during heavy rain, when flash floods are a risk.

The falls are only several minutes’ walk down the trail beyond the shops, where you’ll enjoy the impressively green valley panorama with the cascading water as a centerpiece. Dense foliage frames the falls, and the water volume is impressive at almost any time of year, but normally at its strongest during the wet season (October to April).

Blahmantung Waterfall

Blahmantung Waterfall in Bali’s Tabanan regency is amazing, especially during the rainy season, with a spectacular drop of about 100 meters. But be prepared for a bit of a hike to get there – it’s about a 1 km steep track that can be rough at times. The region’s lush terraced rice fields near the village of Antosari are a bonus highlight on the way there.

At Blahmantung, you can see three waterfalls. The first is a 50-metre-tall structure near a shrine. The second fall, at a slightly lower height, is about 100 meters away, along a river. The third is a little hidden, past a bridge and across from an irrigation dam.

SingSing Waterfall

The Singsing Waterfall is nestled in the forested hills of Cempaga village in Banjar, North Bali. It is approximately 50 kilometers west of the town center and major beach resort areas of North Bali, such as Lovina. You’ll need to take a 20-minute walk through rural countryside and along a moderate forest trail to get there. Its name translates roughly as ‘daybreak waterfall.’

Singsing is a pleasant nature escape from the crowds of Lovina. The best time to visit is during the rainy season (October to April), when the waterfall cascades into a rocky pool. A narrow trail leading over the waterfall leads to a large upper creek. There are lava stone pools where you can soak.

Munduk and Melanting Waterfalls

Munduk village is one of the best destinations in Bali for waterfall lovers,  with 3 of stunning waterfalls, such as; Laangan Melanting waterfall, Red Coral waterfall and Golden Valley/Munduk waterfall.

Since the location of these waterfall is close each other hence the people only know this site as Munduk Waterfall. The weather in Munduk is different to other parts of Bali. As the village is at an altitude of around 800-900 meters above sea level, it tends to rain more in the area. One of the best things to do in Munduk is go trekking as the area is home to some of the most beautiful nature in Bali.

The most popular trek to do is the Munduk waterfall trek, which takes 3-4 hours and leads you to 3 different waterfalls, as; Laangan Melanting waterfall, Red Coral waterfall and Golden Valley/Munduk Waterfalls.

Tukad Cepung Waterfall

Tukad Cepung Waterfall is one of these places that you might want to consider putting on your travel checklist. This still remains as the best virgin waterfall of Bali. The sunlight falls on the glistening waterfall creating a rainbow, which feels as though it is projected right up to you.  This waterfall is a new tourist destination in Bangli area, which gives the beauty and uniqueness of different waterfalls than others, located in the middle of high cliffs, with very clear water, slightly entering the cliff area that seems to coincide with one another. Tukad Cepung Waterfall (often called Cepung by the Balinese) is one of the most photogenic of all the waterfalls in Bali. Tukad mean river in Balinese languange, and Cepung mean flow, so ‘Tukad Cepung Waterfall’ means the Cepung River-flow.
